FAQ

Questions People Actually Ask

A plain guide to the puzzle table, accounts, uploads, rooms, events and scores.

Do I need an account to play?

No. You can open a public puzzle and play as a guest. Your current progress can stay on the device you used.

An account matters when you want saved history, favorites, public leaderboard scores, room invites or public review for your own uploads.

Why is my guest score not on the leaderboard?

Guest scores stay private because public boards need a stable player identity. That keeps the board cleaner and makes moderation possible.

If you finish as a guest, the score can be held as a pending score. Sign in from that offer and the same result can be saved to your account.

Can I use my own photo?

Yes. Upload a JPG, PNG or WebP image and play it privately after the file passes basic technical checks.

Public sharing is different. If you want other players to find the puzzle, the image goes through review first.

What photos work best?

Sharp photos with clear details make better puzzles. Landscapes, rooms, food, pets, buildings and travel photos usually work well.

Very blurry photos, huge empty skies, tiny screenshots and images full of text are harder to enjoy as jigsaw puzzles.

Can I choose the number of pieces?

Yes. The browser table currently opens the public counts from 4 pieces up to 1000 pieces.

The 1000 piece board is a long session, so it is most comfortable on a tablet, laptop or desktop screen.

Do rooms work like normal puzzles?

Rooms use the same puzzle table, but the piece count is locked by the room. Everyone in the room plays the same variant.

Room results stay separate from solo leaderboards because several people may have worked on the same table.

What are events for?

Events give players a reason to come back at the same time. Some are about speed, some use a minimum piece count and some send players into team rooms.

Event scores use their own rules. A normal puzzle score and an event score are not mixed together.

Can I hide or remove my uploaded puzzle?

Private uploads stay yours. Public approved puzzles become part of the public catalog and cannot be removed from the site with a quick accidental click.

If something is wrong, contact us or report it. Public content needs a review trail so we do not break pages, leaderboards or player history by mistake.

Why do some scores say unverified?

A score can be marked unverified when helper tools were used or when the run needs review. It still tells you how you did.

Admins can hide, restore or verify scores when something looks wrong.

Can I play on my phone?

Yes. The table works with touch controls and mobile layouts use horizontal rails where that makes browsing easier.

Large piece counts are more comfortable on a tablet or desktop. Phones are better for smaller counts and quick daily games.

What happens if I leave a puzzle unfinished?

Guest progress can stay on the same browser. Members get a cleaner history that can be shown in the dashboard and Continue Playing areas.

You can remove old continue items when you know you do not want to finish them.

Can I invite a friend?

Yes. Friends are meant for private room invites and people you actually want to puzzle with.

Jigsaway is not trying to become a public social feed. The friend system exists to make shared tables easier and safer.

Do you allow adult or copyrighted uploads?

No. Private play is meant for your own safe images. Public sharing can be rejected for sexual content, hateful content, copyrighted characters, logos or anything that would be unfair to publish.

Review decisions are there to protect players, creators and the site.

Why does Jigsaway use cookies?

Cookies keep the site working, remember basic choices and help us measure traffic. Advertising and analytics choices are handled through the consent banner.

You can keep only the essentials if you do not want optional measurement or ad support cookies.

Who should I contact for a problem?

Use Report Abuse for a puzzle, profile, room or chat message that should be reviewed.

Use Contact for account questions, upload issues, bug reports and anything that does not fit a safety report.
