Easter Jigsaw Puzzles

Our ten Easter puzzles are bright, gentle spring scenes: painted eggs in a wicker basket, two lambs in a green field, chicks tucked into straw. They work for small children and grandparents alike, and every one plays free online at whatever piece count you like.

Easter puzzles for kids

Chicks Nestled in Straw is usually the first one little ones pick. The chicks make a bright yellow block that is easy to find, and the straw around them is fine at 12 or 24 pieces. Bunny in a Flowering Meadow and Lambs in a Green Spring Field work the same way: one animal to build first, then grass and flowers to fill in.

Same picture, very different puzzle

Painted Eggs in a Wicker Basket changes a lot with the piece count. At 50 pieces each egg is almost a piece of its own, and the basket weave holds everything together. At 600 the eggs break up into stripes and dots, and the weave turns into a slow, satisfying job for an adult. It's a good one to replay at a bigger size once the kids have finished their version.

Something for the grown-ups

Spring Garden Egg Hunt and Easter Basket beneath a Blossom Tree are busier. There are eggs hidden in the grass, petals all over the path and a lot of soft green. At 300 pieces or more they make a calm hour on Easter afternoon.

One screen, two generations

Tulips beside Painted Easter Eggs and Spring Cottage Door with a Wreath have large calm areas and a few strong colors. At 24 or 36 pieces on a tablet the pieces are big enough to drag with a finger, so a grandparent and a grandchild can share one screen and take turns. Save Spring Breakfast with Eggs and Flowers for later. It is the busiest picture here and plays best at 300 pieces or more.

What's the trick with pastel colors?

Pastels sit close together. Pale pink, lilac and baby blue can look almost the same on a small piece, especially on a phone. Turn the screen brightness up if you can, and sort eggs by their pattern rather than their color. Stripes, dots and zigzags stay easy to tell apart even when the shades don't.

An Easter morning idea

Set a puzzle going on the family computer while breakfast is out and let people add a few pieces as they walk past. Easter Table with Hot Cross Buns suits this well, with buns, eggs and flowers that anyone can spot. Nothing is lost if it sits there all day, since the browser keeps the board.

For more blossoms and green fields, look through the Seasons category. Earlier in the year the Valentine's Day puzzles have roses, tulips and a café table in Paris.
