About the Steel Milk Churns on a Farm Gate Stand jigsaw puzzle
Before refrigerated tankers, dairy farms in Britain and Ireland set their full churns on a stand by the gate every morning. The stand was built at about the height of a truck bed, so the driver could slide the heavy churns straight on without lifting them. Bulk tankers ended the routine in the second half of the 1900s. Four dented churns with faded painted bands still wait on this one, beside a five-bar gate and a muddy lane. It's a milk churn jigsaw puzzle full of rust and old gray steel.
