About the Inspired by The Great Wave off Kanagawa jigsaw puzzle
Hokusai's Great Wave is a woodblock print, so there was never just one original. He designed it around 1831 for his series Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji. Printers pulled thousands of copies from the carved blocks and sold them cheaply in Edo, which is why so many museums own one. The deep blue is Prussian blue, an imported pigment that was new and fashionable in Japan at the time. This Great Wave jigsaw puzzle uses something else again, an AI-made image modeled on the print, with the same claw-like foam curling over the boats and Fuji small in the distance.
