Antique Pocket Watch Collection

Pocket watches fill two velvet trays on a dark wooden desk. Some cases are open to show pale faces and fine hands, while others display engraved metal backs. Brass chains loop between the watches, crossing burgundy and green velvet in uneven curves. Tiny gears, a watchmaker screwdriver and a soft cloth sit around the trays.

The round watch cases create the main structure of the image, but their surfaces are very different. Cream dials have thin hour marks, exposed mechanisms show layered wheels and the closed backs carry floral engraving. Chains can look similar at first, yet their direction changes wherever they cross a tray edge. The velvet shadows are deep, so the brighter metal rims and small loose gears become useful anchors.
