Apothecary Drawers and Amber Bottles

Small wooden drawers cover the back wall, each one marked by a brass pull and a blank label frame. Amber bottles stand along the counter in several sizes, catching the window light in warm orange patches. In the middle, brass balance scales hold dried herbs in shallow pans.

The worktable is busy without feeling cluttered. Bowls of leaves and flowers sit beside folded paper parcels, a stone mortar, twine and old scissors. Loose herbs have fallen into the scratches and dents of the wood, so even the quieter brown areas have useful marks. Nothing here depends on labels; the puzzle is built from glass shine, brass edges, drawer rows and dry plant textures.
