Balloons over Cappadocia

Sunrise reaches Cappadocia as hot air balloons drift above the pale rock valleys. A large striped balloon fills the left side, with smaller balloons scattered toward the horizon. Below them, cave rooms, footpaths and pointed fairy chimneys catch the warm light while cooler shadows settle into the gullies.

Begin with the broad balloon panels and the darker baskets, then move down into the carved rock shapes. The cave openings make useful anchors because their shadows are deeper than the surrounding stone. Later, the ridges and footpaths will need a slower look, but the changes from sunlit beige to blue-gray shadow keep the valley readable.
