Border Collie beside a Stone Gate

A black-and-white border collie stands beside a weathered gate, with its bright chest and pointed ears set against darker stones. Green pasture, lane gravel and a low wall give the picture useful changes in texture.

Start with the dog face, chest and white paws, then keep gate stones in a separate group by their block edges. Grass pieces are easier to place once you follow the lane line; leave open pasture and pale sky until stronger landmarks are joined. Stone color changes from lichen green to warm grey, giving short runs of masonry pieces a useful visual order.
