Lavender Bundles on a Drying Rack

Lavender bundles hang upside down from the wooden rack, their purple heads gathered tightly above loose stems. Brown twine knots hold each bunch in place, and the open shed door brings a warm stripe of sunlight across the boards. A few fallen sprigs lie on the bench below.

The flower heads are compact, but their small spikes point in several directions. Twine is darker and smoother, making the knots good landmarks once you find the rack. Wooden boards run across the scene with different grain patterns. Build those long strips around the hanging bundles, then use the open doorway to separate shed shadow from the brighter garden beyond.
