Sweet Peas around a Garden Arch

Sweet peas climb the weathered arch in pink, mauve and white clusters. Curling tendrils reach across the wood, and a gravel path continues through the opening toward a brighter garden. Pale leaves soften the lower sides without covering the arch's shape.

The blooms are small, but their winged petals have distinct folds and darker centres. Tendrils make thin curls that help place the plants against the straight timber. Gravel pieces are rounder and more varied than the smooth path beyond. Build the arch first, then let the flowers gather around its posts and curved top.
