Butterfly House Greenhouse

Most butterflies in a public butterfly house arrive as chrysalises, shipped from butterfly farms in countries like Costa Rica and the Philippines. Many houses hang them behind glass so visitors can watch the adults climb out and dry their wings. A blue morpho rests on red flowers in a glass conservatory full of palms, a warm, green butterfly house jigsaw puzzle with dozens more flying under the roof. The farms raise the caterpillars on forest plants, which gives rural families a good reason to leave the forest standing.
