Nebula behind a Crescent Moon

A crescent moon hangs in front of a glowing nebula, with cratered surface on one side and colored dust spreading through deep space. Small stars break the darker background into tiny reference points.

Build the crescent rim and crater shadows first, then separate nebula clouds by direction of their wisps. Keep star pieces aside until the moon silhouette and brightest gas bands are complete. Crater rims give the crescent a firm border while nebula wisps carry the looser final pieces.
