Pocket Watch and Puzzle Pieces jigsaw puzzle
A silver pocket watch rests among loose blue jigsaw pieces on a wooden table. Its pale face has fine dark numerals beneath slender hands, with a small crown and loop above the case. Part of a connected landscape puzzle enters from the lower-right corner. Printed sky, water and foliage appear in different-sized fragments around the watch.
The watch's round metal case has a very different outline from the tabs of the loose pieces. Its glass catches a soft reflection above the dark hands and numerals. Nearby pieces cast separate shadows on the wood, while the joined landscape lies flatter against the table. The two objects bring different sorts of detail together: the watch face's measured divisions and the irregular gaps of an unfinished picture.
