Red Gondola Cabin at a Mountain Station

The steel cable on a lift like this is one endless loop. At each end station it wraps around a big horizontal wheel called a bullwheel. A motor turns one of those wheels to pull the whole line along. An empty red cabin waits at the platform here, doors shut, while the cable runs out over a forested valley toward a river and snowy peaks. It's a mountain gondola jigsaw puzzle with the whole view still ahead.
