Santorini Sunset

Blue-domed churches and white houses descend toward the Aegean as the sun reaches the horizon. Warm pink light brushes the walls, bells and curved roofs, while the sea holds a narrow golden reflection between the island silhouettes. Every level of the village offers a different balcony, window or stair.

Assemble the domes and their white rims as separate landmarks, then connect them through the stepped buildings. The walls are rarely pure white: sunset brings peach highlights and cool violet shadows that reveal their orientation. Dark islands divide the glowing sky from the water, creating a clean horizon. In the sea, the sun's reflection widens toward the foreground and breaks into horizontal ripples. The final sky pieces can be arranged by their bands of orange, pink and blue once the village skyline is secure.
