Street Art Mural in a Brick Alley

Giant red flowers stretch along one side of a brick alley, surrounded by white petals, yellow blooms and overlapping blue-green leaves. The painting continues around the end wall, turning a small service passage into a garden of broad brushstrokes. Opposite it, black metal steps rise to a teal door. Three paint cans and a brush remain beside the worn yellow line on the paving.

Mortar joints run through every painted petal, so the wall has a pattern beneath its pattern. Close to the viewer, rough brick faces show through the paint; farther down the passage, those details become much smaller. A red flower near the corner can resemble the larger one at the front until the scale of the bricks gives it away. The unpainted wall and metal railing provide a quieter stretch of straight lines before the foliage takes over again.
