Sunday Breakfast in a Sunroom

Breakfast is on the low table, within reach of the wicker sofa. There are croissants, coffee, orange slices and an open jar of jam, with a folded newspaper lying off to one side. A striped cloth hangs over the wooden tray. The cat has found a quieter spot in its bed by the windows.

Sunlight crosses the patterned floor beneath a lemon tree laden with yellow fruit. Blue details repeat in the cups, flower jug and tiles, so a blue piece could belong to several places. The sofa is easier to separate from the rest, with broad cream cushions above its tightly woven frame. Beyond it, open doors lead out to a small garden table.
