About the Tokyo Lantern Alley at Night jigsaw puzzle
In Japan a short split curtain called a noren hangs in a shop doorway. When it is out, the shop is open for business. Just after the rain, a narrow lane of old wooden shops glows under red paper lanterns, about as atmospheric as a Japanese street jigsaw puzzle gets. Red lanterns like these often mark an izakaya, the casual Japanese pub where people stop for a drink and small plates after work.
