Whippet on a Striped Window Seat

A brindle whippet has curled up on the deep window seat, its long legs tucked under the striped cushion and its narrow face turned towards the room. The wool throw spills over the left side, bringing a loose fringe and a second pattern to the foreground. Open wooden shutters frame a soft view of rooftops and trees.

Start with the dog's dark stripes, pale chest and slender outline before moving to the repeating cushion lines. The houseplants make broad green shapes around the window, and the small blue ceramic mug gives the right corner a strong color break. Fur, wool, painted wood and glass all catch the morning light differently, so the texture changes do a lot of the sorting.
