Wooden Sculpture in a Carving Studio

An unfinished bird carving stands on a block in the middle of a well-used studio bench. Its wings and breast still show the small cuts left by the carving tools, and pale shavings curl around the base. Chisels lie across the foreground beside a dark clamp, spare blocks and a cloth worn smooth from use.

The bird's silhouette is a good first anchor, followed by the pale wood curls that surround it. Tools bring long metal edges and rounded handles into the lower half, while the bench itself is marked with holes, scratches and darker grain. The side window gives the room a clear split between warm light and deeper shelves. Work through the timber textures last, when the sculpture and tools are already placed.
