Breakfast Tray in a Hotel Room

A wooden breakfast tray rests across an unmade hotel bed, carrying tea, orange juice, toast, butter and a bowl of pear slices with berries. A folded white towel runs along one side. Morning light reaches across the linen and the tray's dark wood, while a tall window opens onto a hazy city beyond the armchair.

Begin with the square tray corners and the pale bedding around them. The porcelain pot and cup have thin gold edges, while the fruit gives you small red, blue and green pieces to place between larger shapes. Curtains, brass lampwork and the patterned chair bring quieter detail to the back of the room. A folded newspaper stays turned away, with no words to interrupt the scene.
