Climbing Rope on a Limestone Wall

There is quite a pile of gear at the foot of this limestone wall. The red rope takes up most of the foreground, with a harness, climbing shoes and metal clips on the gravel beside it. Beyond the shaded equipment, the rock face catches the sun. Small holes and ledges run across its pale surface.

The rope looks like an easy red section until you start sorting its loops. Watch the dark gaps between the coils and the angle of the woven strands. The harness has much broader black straps, while the carabiners make bright curved edges. A few pieces of distant blue sky offer a break from all that stone.
