Curling Stones on Fresh Ice

Red and yellow handled curling stones sit across the fresh ice, their speckled granite bodies catching the rink lights. One yellow stone rests inside the nearest red ring, while another pair waits farther up the sheet. Two sweeping brushes cross the foreground, with black heads, pale handles and colored reflections below them.

The ice is full of quieter details. Painted blue and red rings fade beneath the stones, thin scrape marks run in different directions and the far boards blur into pale bands.
