Flamingos on a Salt Lagoon

Seven flamingos are scattered across a turquoise salt lagoon, each standing clear of the next in the shallow water. Three bend to feed with their bills below the surface, while the taller birds hold their necks in loose curves or step between rippling reflections. Mineral-white shoreline bands lead toward rust-colored volcanic hills beneath a clear blue sky.

Pink feathers vary from shell pale to coral, giving every bird its own small changes in color and shadow. Slender legs and wavering reflections form fine vertical clues across the lower half, with dark bills and bent knees helping to identify the feeding poses. Farther back, horizontal layers of water, salt and rock provide steady landmarks before the quieter stretches of sky come together.
