Humpback Whale beneath Sunbeams

The humpback whale rises through clear water, its long pectoral fins spread beneath shafts of sun. Pleats run along the throat, while the mottled underside of the tail turns away into darker blue. Open water surrounds the body and leaves the whale's outline easy to follow.

The throat grooves repeat without lining up exactly, and their curves show how the body is angled. Pale marks on the fluke form a compact section once the tail edge is found. Sunbeams are broad near the surface and narrower below, with soft transitions that differ from the whale's sharper markings.
