Dolphins in Clear Water
Open table
Move between reefs, beaches, cliffs and open water, each with its own color and movement.
Coastal scenes pair a wide, easy stretch of water with detailed shoreline, so you get a relaxed finish after the busy part is done.
Ocean puzzles are more varied than a broad sheet of blue. Reefs, tide pools, beaches, cliffs and open water each bend light in a different way. Marine life can provide a clear focal point, while foam, wet rock and underwater color keep the rest of the frame active.
Ripples and wave direction are often more useful than the exact shade of the sea. Dark coastlines make strong boundaries, and coral or shoreline objects provide smaller groups with distinct texture. Sunlit shallows tend to be easier to read than deep water, though reflections can still be deceptive. Pick a scene for its atmosphere first; the balance of rock, water and wildlife will decide how the solve actually feels.
