Kitchen Garden after Watering

Raised beds line both sides of the narrow gravel path. Ruby-stemmed chard fills the left foreground, with carrot tops and other greens stretching towards the back. On the right, bean plants climb bamboo supports with white flowers and long hanging pods. The soil is dark from watering, and droplets still shine on the leaves.

Puddles gather between the rounded gravel, reflecting the pale sky and wooden bed edges. A blue-green watering can rests beside the path, while a spool of garden twine sits on the corner of the nearest bed. Start with the red chard stems and bean supports, then work through leaf veins, soil clumps, wet wood and the small stones underfoot.
