Lace Doilies on Blue Linen

Ivory lace doilies overlap across the blue linen, and each one has a different center pattern. One is built from large leaves, another from tight flowers, and the smaller pieces use open loops and scalloped borders. A wooden crochet hook, a ball of thread and silver scissors sit between the cloth folds.

The linen is wrinkled enough to make the blue background change from light to dark. Use those folds to separate the open lace holes, then follow the raised stitches around each edge. The little flower jug at the top adds a patch of white blossoms, while the thread and hook give the lower half a few straight lines among all the curves.
