Lotus Temple

An imagined stone temple stands beside a lotus pool in a lantern-lit garden. Carved columns support the shaded courtyard, with vines trailing down from the roof. Broad steps descend toward pink flowers and rounded leaves on the water. Warm lights gather around the entrance, while trees beyond the building fade into blue-green shadow.

The temple's carved stone forms dense vertical bands, interrupted by deeper shadows between the columns. Reflections carry parts of those bands down into the pool, where ripples soften their edges. Lotus leaves have wider, smoother surfaces than the vines on the walls. The illuminated doorway is a small bright section surrounded by much darker stone, planting and water.
