Painted Ceramic Plates Wall

No two plates quite agree on a pattern. A golden sun looks out from the top row, turquoise waves fill a smaller circle to the right, and leafy stems spread across the large central plate. Cobalt rims connect the display without making it uniform. Some edges are scalloped, others almost smooth; narrow shadows lift them away from the pale plaster.

Blue is everywhere, so color alone will only get you so far. The fine lattice at the upper left belongs to a different plate from the broad, dark petals below. Little red blossoms provide another way to separate the floral designs. Around each painted center, the rim changes both the scale and direction of the decoration. Those curved borders make satisfying small sections to assemble before the gaps of textured wall bring the whole display together.
