Painted Ladies in a Meadow

Painted lady butterflies move over a wildflower meadow filled with poppies and daisies beneath a blue sky.

Red poppies and white daisies make easy starting groups among the meadow greens. Painted ladies are small, so assemble the nearer wings first and use their flight positions to place the softer background insects. The horizon and blue sky add broad areas that can wait until the flower border is complete. With a larger piece count, keep painted ladies in a meadow together as one reference group until the surrounding colors have settled.
