Reading Chair beside a Rainy Window

A broad reading chair sits beside a rainy window, with an open book, a checked wool blanket and a small table holding a teacup. Warm light from the floor lamp meets the cool green view beyond the wet glass. Plants, shelves and a patterned rug fill the corners without taking attention from the chair.

The chair's woven upholstery gives the middle a steady group of close textures. Build the blanket next, following its checks as they fold over the arm. The open book makes a pale horizontal shape, while the teacup and table add small curved landmarks on the right. Rain trails divide the window into vertical lines and help sort the outside view. Leave the rug and soft foliage for last, when the room's main frame is complete.
