Ring-Tailed Lemurs on Sunlit Rocks

Ring-tailed lemurs start a cool morning by sunbathing. They sit up with their arms spread and turn their pale bellies to the sun to warm up before they go looking for food. Three of them have found a patch of warm stone among dry leaves and spiny plants, their ringed tails giving the lemur jigsaw puzzle a bold black and white pattern. Those tails are not for climbing. A lemur holds its tail up like a flag so the rest of the troop can follow.
