Spring Bulbs beside a Rain Barrel

Tulips, crocuses and daffodils crowd the beds beside a weathered wooden rain barrel. Drops still cling to the leaves, and the dark soil shows where a small hand trowel has been left after planting. Purple flowers spread across the lower left, while yellow and pink blooms lead the eye towards the fence.

A narrow path of wet paving stones runs past the barrel towards a weathered shed. Terracotta pots, a watering can and mossy rocks fill the edges, with a low valley visible beyond the garden. The barrel gives you a strong block of vertical boards to place first. After that, separate the shiny leaves, flower heads, puddles and rough gravel into their own small groups.
