Summer Meadow under Cloud Shadows

A narrow footpath rises through the meadow, disappearing between tall grasses and clusters of yellow flowers. White cow parsley and purple heads add small changes to the foreground, while a low stone wall runs along the left edge. Sunlight reaches some parts of the field and leaves others under broad blue-grey cloud shadows.

The middle distance is divided by hedgerows, round trees and pale fields leading to a low ridge. Heavy clouds give the upper half strong shapes, with smaller wisps around the blue gaps. Follow the path from the bottom first, then sort the flower heads and wall stones. The distant fields are quieter, but their horizontal boundaries help keep the greens from blending together.
