Birch Forest in Morning Mist

White birch trunks rise through a soft morning mist, their dark markings standing out against pale air. A narrow leaf-covered path runs from the foreground into the trees, with mossy rocks and low ferns on either side. Small amber leaves remain on the branches, adding warm points of color to the cool woodland.

The nearest trunks make excellent vertical anchors and are easier to separate by bark pattern. Build the path next, following its narrowing edges into the fog. Moss and fallen leaves give the lower corners stronger texture than the distant trees. Leave the misty centre for later, when the surrounding trunks form a frame and the light changes become easier to match.
