Colosseum at Golden Hour

Golden light catches the Colosseum from the side, bringing out the warm color of the old stone and the darker openings inside the arches. The outer wall curves across the square with broken upper tiers, iron railings and small groups of visitors giving the monument a real sense of scale. Paving stones in the foreground add another texture before the scene opens into blue sky.

Begin with the tall left wall and the repeated arch shapes, then follow the curve toward the lower ruins on the right. Sunlit stone and shaded interiors separate cleanly, which helps at smaller counts. Later, the plaza becomes useful because its stones, shadows and rail lines point back toward the building instead of turning into a plain foreground.
