Colosseum at Golden Hour

Golden light catches the Colosseum from the side, bringing out the warm color of the old stone and the darker openings inside the arches. The outer wall curves across the square with broken upper tiers, iron railings and small groups of visitors giving the monument a real sense of scale. Paving stones in the foreground add another texture before the scene opens into blue sky.

Light reaches the outer faces of the arches while their interiors remain dark. The repeated openings shrink toward the right as the wall curves away. Broken upper tiers interrupt the pattern and give the top edge an irregular outline. Across the foreground, paving joints lead toward the monument at much flatter angles. Railings and visitors are small beside the stonework, but they mark where the building meets the square.
