Covered Bridge in Autumn

An old red covered bridge runs across a rocky stream beneath a canopy of autumn leaves. The paint has faded in places, and moss softens the stone wall beside the water. Orange maples crowd the bank while the dark entrance and white trim pull your eye toward the bridge.

The bridge's open entrance forms a dark shape inside pale trim, while small side windows repeat along the red wall. Weathered boards run vertically beneath the longer roofline. Below, the stream curves between rounded stones rather than following the building's straight edges. Orange foliage gathers above both banks. Leaves nearer the viewer have clearer outlines than the smaller patches of color beyond the far end of the bridge.
