Old Sailboat on a Mudflat

Low tide has left the old sailboat resting in the mud, its blue hull chipped down to bare wood. The mast lies lowered across the boat, and ropes hang over the side. Shallow pools catch the sunset around clumps of seaweed. A few shore birds stand farther out on the flat.

The peeling blue paint makes the boat easier to assemble than the muddy ground around it. Look for little islands of pale wood inside the blue patches, then follow the hull's curved lower edge. Reflections near the sun are brighter than the gray pools in front. Keep those warm water pieces apart from the orange sky until the horizon is connected.
