Pears and Honey on a Stone Slab

Ripe pears sit beside a small glass jar of honey on rough stone, with linen napkin softening one corner. Speckled skin, amber glass, wooden dipper and slab grain each offer a different edge.

Gather pear stems and outlines first, then build jar around bright rim and dark honey center. Stone sorts by veins and pits; leave linen until objects establish foreground positions. Honey highlights are brighter than pear skin, making the jar rim a quick place to regain orientation. Glass highlights on the jar are sharper than the matte pears and stone.
