Ski Lodge Race Course

A groomed slalom course drops past a timber lodge beneath a clear range of snow-covered peaks. Red and blue gates zigzag across the slope, with safety netting following both edges and one skier carving a small turn near the pine trees. Sunlight warms the lodge balconies while cool shadows hold the corduroy ridges in the snow.

Red and blue gates descend across the snow in alternating turns. Their poles are thin but strongly colored, unlike the broader blue-gray shadows on the slope. The lodge forms a separate block of timber, balconies and snow-covered roof edges on the right. Above it, successive mountain ridges grow paler with distance. That change in contrast helps separate distant peaks from the nearer snow, even when both look white at first.
