Soccer Afternoon

A soccer ball rests near the corner line of a freshly cut pitch under clear afternoon light. Empty blue seats and a simple covered stand face the field, with trees and floodlight poles rising behind them. Nobody is playing yet, and a goal stands empty on the far left.

White pitch lines meet beside the ball, drawing two strong diagonals across the foreground. Mowing stripes give the grass a finer change of direction. Beyond the field, blue seats sit in repeated rows under the stand's long roof. Slender supports divide that roof from the seating, while floodlight poles continue into the sky. The ball is a small, sharply patterned section. The open turf takes more comparison because its greens are so similar.
