Swimmers at an Outdoor Pool

The outdoor pool is ready before the first swimmers arrive. Floating lane ropes divide the turquoise water, while white starting blocks stand along the tiled edge. Trees reflect in the far lanes, breaking their blue with soft green patches and thin morning highlights.

Lane ropes give the water a regular rhythm, but their reflections wobble below them. Build the tiled deck from its grout lines and pale corners. Starting blocks are small, bright landmarks that connect pool and pavement. Keep the trees separate from the reflected leaves until the far edge tells you which way the surface is facing.
