Summer Shadows across a Porch

Railing shadows cut clean bands across warm porch boards, with rocking chair and potted plant adding recognizable shapes. Bright garden green beyond rail contrasts with cooler shadow strips in foreground.

Build chair and railing from straight and curved edges, then match shadow bands to boards. Keep garden pieces separate from porch greens; leaf shapes and light direction reveal the boundary. Railing posts repeat across the shadow pattern, giving the porch a dependable sequence of joins. Board seams continue beneath shadows, allowing porch pieces to be checked against the grain.
