Venice Canal

Venetian palaces line a broad canal beneath a bright blue sky. Cream, yellow and terracotta facades rise directly from the water, with balconies, arched windows and a slender bell tower leading into the distance. A dark gondola rests near the foreground while the buildings ripple in long reflections below.

Each facade has its own pattern of windows and balconies, even where neighboring walls share yellow or cream paint, so the buildings sort well by their openings. The bell tower and the white clouds give the top half clear landmarks. Below the buildings, reflections stretch the same warm colors into wavy vertical strips broken by blue ripples. Rooflines stay sharp against the sky while the water blurs them, so finish the buildings first and match each strip of reflection to the wall above it. The gondola and the wooden mooring posts on the right help close the bottom edge.
