Barn Owl on a Weathered Beam

A barn owl perches beside a thick timber post, its pale face turned toward the light. The beam under its feet is split and worn along the edge. Sunlight comes through a window on the left and through gaps in the boards behind the bird. The rest of the barn falls into deep brown shadow.

There is plenty of wood in this puzzle, but the grain runs in different directions. The diagonal beam is easier to follow than the dark boards behind it. Around the owl, look for the outline of the face and the fine spots on the wings. Its creamy chest can look surprisingly close in color to the sunlit timber.
