Checkerboard Picnic Blanket

A red and white picnic blanket fills the scene with woven checks, enamel plates and simple food laid out in afternoon light. Grapes, strawberries, mixed berries and sliced bread add small color groups around the blanket. Grass peeks in from the lower edge, and the folded napkin on the right keeps the cloth from feeling too regular.

Red squares provide the strongest pattern, but the woven threads and soft shadows keep them from looking identical. Blue-rimmed plates make clean circles to sort first, followed by berry clusters, bread crust and the pale butter plate. Grass blades along the edge add a useful change of texture near the end.
