Copper Foil and Indigo Brushstrokes jigsaw puzzle
Torn copper foil lies across cream handmade paper, catching the light in crinkled ridges and ragged edges. Deep indigo brushstrokes sweep through the middle, with thick paint ridges on one side and dry broken marks on the other. Smaller copper flakes and rust-colored specks scatter between the larger pieces.
The cream paper is not empty space. Its torn fibers, shadows and overlapping seams give every pale area a different texture. The broad blue strokes are easier to follow where the bristles leave thin lines through the paint. Copper changes from bright orange to dark brown depending on the fold, so the shine and the torn outline matter as much as the color.
