Ochre Waves on Indigo Paper

Flowing ochre waves sweep across deep indigo handmade paper, their painted edges lifting and thinning as they turn. Some bands overlap cleanly; others leave a narrow dark seam where the paper shows through. Visible grain breaks up the broad colors and gives the abstract design a tactile surface.

Follow each wave by its curve before sorting the shades of ochre. Overlaps make small, reliable landmarks, while the indigo gaps can be grouped by paper grain. Keep the outer corners for later, when the direction of the larger bands has settled.
