Overlapping Rings in Cut Felt

Felt loops overlap without settling into a regular pattern. Mustard curves pass under plum ones, while turquoise crescents leave small openings onto an ivory ground. Rough fibers soften the cut edges, and shallow shadows make it clear which layer sits above its neighbor.

Working by color gets each ring started, but the overlaps decide where those sections connect. Follow a shadow until it meets another curve and check which edge disappears underneath. Small ivory gaps are not all background pieces with nothing to go on. Their outlines can be quite specific, especially where three shapes nearly meet in the same part of the image.
